NAHA Celebrates 500 Graduates with New Heavy Equipment Simulator

The North Alabama Homebuilding Academy (NAHA) is proudly celebrating 500 graduates from its Construction Skills Bootcamp program. NAHA opened its doors to the public in January 2020 with the mission of providing free, hands-on skills training to north Alabama residents seeking a career in the residential construction industry. 

“Reaching 500 graduates is a pivotal milestone for NAHA, especially as the demand for skilled tradespeople continues to rise. Our free, hands-on educational programming benefits north Alabama in a time of astronomical growth,” said NAHA Executive Director Tommy Davis. 

As NAHA continues to grow, the mission to provide training that is most needed in the industry is always at the forefront. To address the rising demand for heavy equipment operators, NAHA has invested in a heavy equipment simulator that trains students on five types of heavy equipment commonly used in residential construction.

“Incorporating a heavy equipment simulator into our program provides a safe, hands-on learning environment for our students and industry partners, allowing them to practice and improve their skills without the risks associated with real machinery,” said Scott Dean, NAHA Board Chairman and Owner of Dean Plumbing Company, “This helps reduce accidents, lower maintenance costs, and increase efficiency on construction sites.”
